Cooking Tips for Roast: Prepare roast by braising (low heat with liquid). This works great for all roasts, ribs, and tongue.
Mom's Crock Pot Roast
Ingredients:
3-4 lb. grass-fed beef chuck, arm, sirloin tip, or rib roast
6 small potatoes (washed, pealed, and quartered)
4 medium carrots (washed, peeled, quartered)
1 medium onion (sliced)
1 to 2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 cups beef broth
1T worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 bay leaves
Method:
Place quartered potatoes and carrots in the bottom of a large crockpot. Add thawed grass-fed beef roast on top of potatoes.
Arrange onion slices around roast. Place bay leaves on top of roast. Add beef broth to crock pot. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
Set crock-pot on high for the first 30 minutes. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or leave on high and cook for 4-5 hours.
